Cole, Kennard Howell, <br />Lanny Cravy, Kenneth Cumpton <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the September 9 and September 18, 1968 <br />.Minutes were approved as presented, on motion of Dr. Pool <br />and second of Mr. Dannelley. <br /> <br />A petition for annexation of property was received from <br />Dr. William H.P. Emery. The Mayor read a letter from J.E. <br />Younger, j 1'., Chairman of the Planning&' Zoning Commission, <br />recommending that the property be annexed, subject to Dr.Emery's <br />agreement to grant a portion of the property on the Old San Marcos- <br />Wimberley Road needed to .widen the street. The City Manager stated <br />Dr. Emery had been contacted, and had agreed to give the City the <br />necessary footage for widening the street. A plat of the property <br />in question, marked with the portion needed for widening the street, <br />was .examined by members of the Council. The letter and plat are <br />attached as a part of the Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved that the <br />petition for annexation be ipproved, contingent upon receipt of a <br />deed to the City from Dr. Emery for the necessary right-of-way. <br />Councilman Dannelley seconded the motion and on ~oll c~ll the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />A second item of business forwarded from the Planning &' Zoning <br />Commission concerned a change of zoning requested by the First <br />American Lutheran Church. The Mayor read aloud a letter from <br />J.E. Younger, jr., see attached with plat. A plat was examined <br />by members of the Council. Councilman Flores moved approval of <br />a change of zoning on a five-acre tract out of Juan Veramendi <br />#2 Survey, fronting on Linda Drive, from "R-l" (residenti~l) to <br />"C" (commercial). Dr. Pool seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance annexing 10.947 acres <br />of land owned by.W.H. Hamilton, jr. and Tom Hamilton. Dr. Pool <br />moved passage ,of the .ordinance, on.second reading. Mr. Dannelley <br />seconded the motion and on roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />
