Cox, Jim T.Brown, <br />Curtis Stewart, Jack North, Gary Chatham, <br />Frank Contreras, Ben Gonzalez, Jerri Veidt, <br />Charlotte Crisp <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes 6f November 7 &'8. 1968 Were approved as p~esented, <br />on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Dr. Pool. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended to the Council that the Urban Renewal <br />Agency be requested to make a st~dy of improving Ed~ard ~ary Street, <br />and extending it to connect with Interstate 35. A map of the area <br />was studied. Mr. Dannelley moved that the Urban Renewal Agency be <br />requested to make a feasibility study for the improvement and <br />extertsion to Int~rstate 35 of Edward Gary Street. Dr. Craddock <br />seconded the motion andoh roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Seru~. Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Smith presented for consideration a .contract with Hays <br />Memorial Hospital to .furnish ambulance service for the City of San <br />Marcos. Bob Scott, Superintendent of Memorial Hospital, approved <br />the .contract; except for omission. of a term~nation clause. Dr. Pool <br />moved that th~ Mayor be authorized to sigh a contract for ambulance <br />service with Hays Memorial Hospital, after inclusion of a termination <br />clause. Dr. Craddock seconded them.otion and on roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith, lavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion car~ied. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />W.W. Cox, Executive Director of the Chamber ofCommerc~. came before <br />the Council to discuss the Chamber's plans to build a civic center. <br />Chamber directors had asked Mr. Cox to enquire if there were City <br />property that might be used for such a purpose, ona long-term lease <br />basis. Mr. Flores b~ought out that most of the City's land is park <br />land, which cannot be rented, leased or sold without a referendum. <br />Dr. Craddock rnovedthat the Council take this matter under consid- <br />eration; and that the City ~anager discuss de!ails with Mr. Cox. <br />Mr. lavesky seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
