'/ I- regular meeting, january 14, 1969 page two The Mayor read aloud an excerpt from the Minutes of the Hays County Commissioners Court in which the north side of Holland Street was abandoned to the City of San Marcos, see attached. Dr. Pool moved that the City accept the north side of Holland St~eet into the corpor- ate limits of the City of San Marcos. Mr. Zavesky second- ed the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Serur, Pool, Smith, Zavesky None I The Mayor declared th~ motion carried. The Mayor read aloud a letter from the Planning & Zoning Commission in which three recommendations were made to the City Council, see attached. Dr. Pool moved that Lots 11,12,13,14, & 15 of Millview Addition be rezoned from R-1, residential, to Crcommercial, as recommended. Mr. Smith sec6nded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Zavesky moved that Lot 8 of the A.B. Rogers Subdivision be rezoned from R-I, residential, to C, commercial. as recommended~ Mr. Smith seconded the ~otion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Zavesky moved that two lots on Orchard Street, 80X160 feet each, be re-subdivided into two lots of the same dimensions, to face on Alamo Street, as re~ommended. Dr. Pool seconded the motion,which passed unanimously. Mr. Bean reported that construction was starting on the new 125 -uni t public housing project. The bid was awarded ~o Bruce Campbell Construction Co., of Temple, at a cost of $1,555,000.00. I Jim Brown, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency, gave a condensed report on Urban Renewal Projects in San Marcos for 1968. He stated the Agency had had its most successful year in its history, ending 1968, "$8000 in the black." A full report will be filed with the City for permanent records. A workshop on the Capital Area Council of Governments was set for Tuesday, January 28, at 3:30 p.m., in City Hall. Participants will be members of theCouncil,and members of the League of Woman Voters. County officials and school officials will be invited to the study session. Mrs. Tom Brasher, President of the League of Women Voters, offered to provide good speakers for a panel discussion, tobefollowed by a question and answer period. The City Manager presented a tabulation of bids on gasoline, diesel fuel and lubricants sho~ing Sinclair and Conoc~ as low bidders. Dr. Craddock moved that Sinclair be awarded the bid for gasoline and diesel fuel, and Conocor the bid on lubricahts.
