Dr. Pool moved that the City <br />accept the north side of Holland St~eet into the corpor- <br />ate limits of the City of San Marcos. Mr. Zavesky second- <br />ed the motion and on roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Serur, Pool, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared th~ motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission in which three recommendations were made to <br />the City Council, see attached. Dr. Pool moved that Lots <br />11,12,13,14, & 15 of Millview Addition be rezoned from <br />R-1, residential, to Crcommercial, as recommended. <br />Mr. Smith sec6nded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Zavesky moved that Lot 8 of the A.B. Rogers Subdivision <br />be rezoned from R-I, residential, to C, commercial. as <br />recommended~ Mr. Smith seconded the ~otion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Zavesky moved that two lots on Orchard Street, 80X160 <br />feet each, be re-subdivided into two lots of the same <br />dimensions, to face on Alamo Street, as re~ommended. <br />Dr. Pool seconded the motion,which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bean reported that construction was starting on the <br />new 125 -uni t public housing project. The bid was awarded <br />~o Bruce Campbell Construction Co., of Temple, at a cost <br />of $1,555,000.00. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Jim Brown, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency, <br />gave a condensed report on Urban Renewal Projects in <br />San Marcos for 1968. He stated the Agency had had its <br />most successful year in its history, ending 1968, "$8000 <br />in the black." A full report will be filed with the City <br />for permanent records. <br /> <br />A workshop on the Capital Area Council of Governments <br />was set for Tuesday, January 28, at 3:30 p.m., in City <br />Hall. Participants will be members of theCouncil,and <br />members of the League of Woman Voters. County officials <br />and school officials will be invited to the study session. <br />Mrs. Tom Brasher, President of the League of Women Voters, <br />offered to provide good speakers for a panel discussion, <br />tobefollowed by a question and answer period. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a tabulation of bids on gasoline, <br />diesel fuel and lubricants sho~ing Sinclair and Conoc~ as <br />low bidders. Dr. Craddock moved that Sinclair be awarded <br />the bid for gasoline and diesel fuel, and Conocor the bid <br />on lubricahts.
