I I I L--____ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 37.5 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND AbJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of San Marcos. Texas, where all interested persons were p00vided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described property: Approximately 37.5 acres, described by mete~ and bounds in "E~hibit AU, attached herewith was held at City Hall 6n the 28th day of January, 1969, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published .in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of San Marcos, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 16th day of January, 1969, which date is not more than twenty mol" less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and, WHEREAS, the ~otal corporate area of the City of San Marcos, Texas, on the first day of January, 1969, was approximately 4,480 acres; and, WHEREAS, the population of the City of San Marcos is approximately 17,500 inhabitants; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos. Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described t~rrltor~lies adjatent tci and adjoins the City of San Marcos, 'Texas; and; , WHEREAS, the above described territory contains approxi- mately 37.5 acres; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; SECTION 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of San Marcos, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall here- after be included within the boundary limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, and the present boundary limits of said City, at the various points contiguous to the area herein- after described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos.
