Jack Byrom <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor celled the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. and <br />opened a Public Hearing on the proposed annexation of <br />47.3 acres of land northwest of LBJ Drive. A transparency <br />of the property, showing the houses already within the <br />City Limits,and the location of utility lines, was thrown <br />on the screen. The City Manager explained that a petition <br />for a single piece of property had been received, and upon <br />it. submission to the Planning & Zoning Commission, it had <br />recommended that about 37 ac~es be annexed in the area. The <br />Council, after further consideration, decided to annex about <br />47 acres, and called a Public Hearing. <br />Jack Hear, a property-owner within the proposed annexation <br />area, requested that his property not be included. He stated <br />that he had built his house outside the city limits and had <br />gone to considerable expense to install facilities, and he <br />felt it would be unfair to take him into the City now, and' <br />pay city taxes. After further discussion, no other person <br />having protested, Dr. Pool moved that the 47.3 acres be <br />annexed. Mr. Flores seconded the motion and on roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried and the Annexation <br />Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />James R. Cole, of Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, I nc., pre- <br />sented a thoroughfare map, showing right-of-way requirements <br />For the extension and improvement of Olmos Drive (Sessoms), <br />Walnut Street, Cornell Street, Academy Street, Holland Street <br />and Comanche Street.
