My permanent residence 'will
continue to be San Marcos. How'ever, since the San Marcos Urban
Renewal Program is financed by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development, I am ineligible to serve as Commissioner to the City's
Urban Renewal Board.

It is 'With considerable regret that I 'Will resign as Commissioner,
both because I believe that the work which I haVe been doing is
most valuable and because I have very much enjoyed 'working 'With the
staff and members of the Urban Renewal Agency. Were it not for the
fact the work 'with BUD is also of great value and that I haVe been
given reason to believe that the move will be of considerable value
to me, personally, for future growth as a Federal employee, I would
certainly remain in my present job.

I would like to thank you and the members of the San Marcos City
Council for the assistance and opportunity which I have received
during the three years of service with the Urban Renewal Board and
Citizens Advisory Committee.

Sincerely yours,

~~L~~

P. S. Also consider my resignation as a member of the Citizens Advisory
Committee because many of the projects sponsored by the City are
also covered by BUD and I do not 'want to jeopardize them.

cc: Jill Brown, Director, Urban Renewal Agency
Laura Rarnseor, Chairman, Urban Renewal Board

v
