<br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />ADJOINING THE CITY lIMITS OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, INTO SAID CITY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owners of a strip of land not exceeding <br />one-half (~) mile in width, being contiguous and adjacent <br />to the present residents, qualified to vote for members of <br />the State legislature, have petitioned the City of San Marcos <br />to annex said strip of land within the municipal limits, a <br />copy of said petition being hereto attached, mahked "Exhibit A", <br />and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes; and. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of <br />San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal <br />limits: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, that said strip of land, herein- <br />after described in Exhibit A , be and the same hereby is, <br />received as a part of the City of San Marcos, and the corpor- <br />ate limits of the City of San Marcos are hereby extended so <br />as to include said strip of land, and from henceforth the <br />territory so received and annexed shall be a part of the City <br />of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances <br />of said City, in accordance with law. <br /> <br />SAID STRIP OF LAND is described as: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />FIVE ACRES of land in the T.J. Chambers league in the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, being a. part of that <br />certain tract of 17.11 acres of land which was convey- <br />ed by George T. Washington and wife to John T. Cox and <br />wife by deed dated April 28, 1951, recorded in Vol.149, <br />page 559, Hays County Deed Records, and which 5.00 acres <br />of land is more particularly described in "Exhibit A". <br /> <br />This property is zoned "R-l", single-family residential. <br /> <br />PASSED on first reading the 14th day of April, 1969. <br /> <br />PASSED on second reading the 2Rth day of April, 1969. <br /> <br />PASS, APPROVED AND ADOPTED the 12th dav of May, 1969. <br />/" <br />J <br />(..L!t:"..
