De Ford <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Minutes of the June 9 meeting were approved as presented, <br />on motion of Mr.Zavesky and second of Dr. Craddock. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced H.L. DeFord, Division Chief of Lockwood, <br />Andrews & Newnam, Jnc., who presented a report and recommendations <br />for the sanitary landfill. As had been anticipated, Mr. DeFord <br />recommended that the landfill be located on property owned by <br />the City at the former .Camp G;lry site. Copies of the printed <br />report, with plats and charts, were distributed to the Council. <br />Mr. DeFord explained reasons for selection of three different <br />sites, and asked the Council to authorize use. of Site 1 & 2 for <br />the ~resent. He said choice ~f site ~o start the initial land- <br />fill operation would be ~orked out after discussion with Gary <br />Job. Corps .Center officials. Dr. Craddock m.oved approval of <br />Sites 1 & 2 for initial operation of the sanitary landfill for <br />garbage disposal. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll <br />calI, the following vote was r.ecorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cr;lddock, Contreras, Dannelley, Flores, <br />Serur,.Smith, Zavesky <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried.. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance, substance of w.hich had <br />been approved at the previous meeting.
