a) A preliminary drainage analysis that includes drainage area maps and the calculation
of the existing 2, 10,25 and 100 year flow. Engineer will include drainage areas
from the analysis outlined below for both the City and TSUSM. The Engineer will
utilize the HEC-1 or HEC-HMS hydrologic modeling software to determine flow
rates and StormCAD hydraulic modeling software for storm sewer design.

b) A preliminary cost estimate.

1.2.8 Conduct a drainage analysis as described in Section 1.2.7 above to determine the amount of
runoffthat can be diverted from the proposed storm sewer into a water quality pond on the TSUSM
campus.

1.2.9 Conduct a preliminary drainage analysis as described in Section 1.2.7 above to determine the
amount of runoff from the existing 60 inch storm sewer that can be diverted into a water quality pond
on the TSUSM campus. Engineer will ensure that remaining runoff will be directed into the existing
outfall at the San Marcos River.

1.2.1 0 Work with TSUSM to prepare a preliminary design to transform an existing pond( s) into a
water quality pond that will filter the storm water from this Project prior to being released into the
San Marcos River. The Engineer will utilize the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's
("TCEQ") Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the design of the water quality pond. Engineer
will provide in this analysis the results of any investigations into the adverse effects the Project will
have on the San Marcos River and further provide recommendations of possible mitigation as
necessary.

1.3 TASK 2 -FINAL DESIGN

The Engineer will:

1.3.1 Meet with the City's Project Manager periodically or as needed to update the City on the
progress of work (two meetings anticipated).

1.3.2 Head the Project team and coordinate the integration of design, surveying, right of way
issues, traffic control, utility Engineering, permitting, and other services as previously approved.

1.3.3 Attend one meeting with project stakeholders.

1.3.4 Prepare final Project plans that will incorporate the storm sewer plans for both the City and
TSUSM. These plans will include:
a) drainage plan and calculations
b) storm sewer plan/profile sheets
c) cross drainage plan/profile sheets, if necessary
d) water quality pond

3
