C. Streetlight Enhancement Proiect briefing by Tom Taggart, Director of Public Services. <br />• e He Director of Public Services Tom Taggart presented a streetlight program updat reported <br />p <br />that staff was charged to do more energy efficient lighting. They implemented a street light <br />patrol and conducted a night time survey. 13% of lights were not functional and were referred <br />for maintenance and replacement. For better lighting that is more energy efficient and has better <br />light quality, they initiated a streetlight pilot trail program. They are also exploring other <br />technologies and partnering opportunities with Phillips /Widelight. <br />D. CIP Quarterly Update by David Healey, Capital Improvements Department Director. <br />CIP Director David Healey reported there are currently 53 projects underway, and this evening <br />he addressed four projects. The McCarty Lane construction will begin in April and will be the <br />first phase of the 1 10 Loop and improve the safety of our students. Sessom Drive Phase l will <br />improve roadway safety, alleviate drainage issues and repair failing pavements. It will be <br />completed in late April or the first of May. TXDOT will resurface after the semester ends. The <br />Rio Vista Terrace improvements construction began in March and is expected to last two years. <br />They will send out the first progress report to residents in May, and there will be a public <br />meeting in June. The Rio Vista Tennis Courts opened in October. There were several issues <br />with the surface and slab. The project will not be considered complete until the repairs are made. <br />The Wonder World Drive ribbon cutting is scheduled for July 24. Consider adoption on second and final reading of Ordinance 2010 -14, amending Article <br />3, Taxicabs, of Chapter 90, Vehicles for Hire, of the San Marcos City Code adding <br />regulations for taximeters and setting maximum taxicab fares and charges, including <br />procedural provisions; and declaring an effective date. <br />12. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -55R, approving the purchase of single phase and <br />three phase pad mount transformers from Priester -Mell Nicholson, Inc. for $22,206.55 and <br />from KBS for $94,680.00; authorizing the City Manager to execute the appropriate <br />purchasing documents on behalf of the City and declaring an effective date. <br />13. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -56R, approving the procurement of technology <br />equipment from Unique Digital, Inc. and the associated professional services from Calence, <br />LLC dba Insight Networking for the Technology Services Department in connection with <br />the City's disaster recovery facility for $505,101.60 through the Texas Comptroller of <br />Public Account's Department of Information Resources ( "DIR ") Program (Contract DIR- <br />SDD -236); authorizing the City Manager to execute the appropriate purchasing documents <br />on behalf of the City and declaring an effective date. <br />• <br />RM040610 Minutes Page 3 <br />
