County, Texas, and located at 1664 Centerpoint Road, and provide direction to <br />staff. <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing at 9:43 p.m., and there being no public <br />comment, the Public Hearing was closed at 9:43 p.m. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Guerrero and a second by <br />Councilmember Jones, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />approve the request for relief from certain construction requirements related to the private <br />road and the private utility facility. The motion carried unanimously. <br />28. Consider adoption of Ordinance 2008-29, ordering a General and Special <br />Election to be held on November 4, 2008 for the purpose of electing a Mayor, City <br />Council Member, Place 3, a City Council Member, Place 4; and to submit proposed <br />amendments to the City Charter to the voters; establishing early voting locations <br />and nolling places for this election; making provisions for conducting the election; <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by <br />Councilmember Guerrero, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed <br />(with Councilmember Thomaides voting against the language in Amendment No. 2), and <br />amended to reflect corrections in precinct locations and early voting polling locations and <br />dates/times; and to remove Amendment No. 1 from the ballot, to approve Zoning <br />Ordinance 2008-29 on the first reading. The motion carried unanimously. <br />Staff was directed to draft amendment language regarding Charter review periods for <br />inclusion on the ballot. <br />29. Consider adoption on third and final reading of Ordinance 2008-30, amendin <br />Chapter 86, Article 3, of the San Marcos City Code; establishing regulations <br />governing the discharge of fats, oils and grease into the City's sanitary sewer <br />svstem: establishing penalties for the violation thereof, providing for publication; <br />and providing an effective date. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Guerrero and a second by <br />Councilmember Couch, and amended to begin education as soon as possible and to set <br />the effective date as January 1, 2008, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) <br />opposed, to approve Zoning Ordinance 2008-30, as previously captioned. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />30. Consider nominations to the Board of Trustees of the Texas Municipal League <br />Intergovernmental Risk Pool. <br />Chris Jones was nominated to the Board of Trustees of the Texas Municipal League <br />Intergovernmental Risk Pool. <br />PDFConvert.3231.
