<br />,.. <br /> <br />... . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />e.< <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />Officials not to benefit <br /> <br />\ <br />No officer, member of employee of the Criminal Justice <br />Division and no member of the governing body of the locality <br />or localities in which the project is situated or being <br />carried out who exercise any functions or responsibilities <br />in the review or approval of the undertaking or carrying out <br />of this project, shall participate in any decision relating <br />to this Contract which affects his personal interest or <br />have any personal or pecuniary interest, direct or indirect, <br />in this Contract or the proceeds thereof. <br /> <br />No members of or Delegate to the Congress of the United <br />States of America, no Resident Commissioner, or employee <br />of the LEAA or Department of Justice, shall be admitted <br />to any share or part thereof or to any benefit to arise <br />herefrom. <br /> <br />VII. Minority and Small Businesses <br /> <br />In all subcontracts the Center will, when practical, <br />utilize small businesses, and minority suppliers and <br />services) and purchase materials and supplies of United <br />States origin for use in the completion of this contract. <br /> <br />VIII.Equal Employment Opportunity <br /> <br />1. During the performance of this contract, the Center <br />agrees as follows: <br /> <br />(a) The Center will not discriminate against any <br />employee or applicant for employment because <br />of race, color, religion, sex, or national <br />origin. The Center will take affirmative <br />action to ensure that applicants are employed, <br />and that employees are treated during employment <br />without regard to their race, color, religion, <br />sex or national origin. Such action shall <br />include, but not be limited to the following: <br />employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer, <br />recruitment or recruitment advertising, layoff <br />or termination, rates of payor other forms of <br />compensation, and selection for training <br />including apprenticeship. The Center agrees <br />to post in conspicuous places, available to <br />employees and applicants for employment, notices <br />to be provided setting forth the provisions <br />of this nondiscrimination clause. <br /> <br />(b) The Center will, in all solicitations or <br />advertisements for employees placed by or on <br />behalf of the Center, state that all qualified <br />applicants will receive consideration for <br />employment without regard to race, color, <br />religion, sex or national origin. <br /> <br />(c) The Center will send to each labor union or <br />representative of workers with which it has <br />a collective bargaining agreement or other <br />contract or understanding, a notice to be <br />provided advising the said labor union or workers' <br />representatives, of the Center's committments <br />under this section and shall post copies of the <br />notice in conspicuous places available to employee <br />and applicants for employment. <br /> <br />(d) The Center will comply with all provisions for <br />Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965, <br />
