<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />This Contract entered into this day of , 1979, <br />by and between the CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, hereinafter called <br />the Owner, acting by and through Royal Dunlap, it's City Manager, <br />duly authorized to act, and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC., of Austin, <br />Texas, Registered Professional Engineers, hereinafter called the <br />Engineer. <br /> <br />WITNESSETH, that in consideration of the covenants and agree- <br />ments herein contained, the parties hereto do mutually agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Employment of Engineer: The Owner hereby employs the Engi- <br />neer and the Engineer agrees to provide professional services herein- <br />after set forth in connection with the expansion, modifications or <br />other improvements to the No. 1 and No. 2 Was te Trea tment Pl ants <br />and the wastewater collection system, including collectors, inter- <br />ceptor sewers and lift stations, described below, hereinafter called <br />the Proj ect. <br /> <br />a. Expansion of the Owner's waste treatment works capacity. <br /> <br />b. Rehabilitation of the existing sewer collection system. <br /> <br />c. Expansion and/or modification of interceptors, lift <br />stations and collectors. <br /> <br />The employment of the Engineer as covered by this contract shall <br />be applicable only to such improvements for which the Owner shall <br />make specific authori zation to the Engi neer to perform services. <br /> <br />2. Character and Extent of Engineering Services: The Engineer <br />shall render engineering services for the development and construction <br />of the project, which shall include the following: <br /> <br />1. <br />
