I I I ORDINANCE NO. 45 87 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 12, ENTITLED "GARBAGE AND TRASH", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADD A NEW SECTION WHICH ESTABLISHES CHARGES FOR THE SERVICE OF COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF THOSE ITEMS DEEMED TOO BULKY AND/OR HEAVY TO BE INCLUDED AS REGULAR GARBAGE OR TRASH PURSUANT TO SAID CHAPTER, DESIGNATING THE CITY DEPARTMENT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAID SERVICE, DIRECTING THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF SAID CITY TO COLLECT SAID CHARGES, DESIGNATING DUE DATES FOR BILLS FOR SAID SERVICE, PROVIDING FOR NECESSARY RENUMBERING OF SAID CHAPTER AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code or Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 12-12, which said section reads as follows: 12-12. Items deemed too bulky and/or heavy to be included as regular garbage and trash pursuant to Section 12-2. (a) Charges established. Charges are hereby established for the service of collection and disposal of those items deemed too bulky and/or heavy to be included as regular garbage or trash. Said service shall be the responsibility of the Sanitation Department of the City of San Marcos and shall be limited to locations within the corporate limits of said City. Charges for said service shall be based on the time required to load said ~tems, except that there is hereby established a minimum charge per stop. The charges for said service are established as follows: Minimum Charge Per Stop - $1.50 Loading Time o - 5 Minutes More than 5 minutes-lO minutes More than 10 minutes-IS minutes More than IS minutes-20 minutes More than 20 minutes-25 minutes More than 25 minutes-30 minutes More than 30 minutes-35 minutes More than 35 minutes-40 minutes More than 40 minutes-45 minutes More than 45 minutes-SO minutes More than SO minutes-55 minutes More than 55 minutes-60 minutes Over 1 hour Charge 1. SO 3.00 4. SO 6.00 7.50 9.00 10. SO 12.00 13. SO 15.00 16.50 18.00 18.00 per hour plus applicable charge for any portion of an hour No such items shall be collected and disposed of by said department except upon the schedule of charges above outlined.
