<br />I <br /> <br />2. The ENGINEER agrees to attend necessary conferences, prepare <br />preliminary plans and estimates for the work to be done according to <br />concepts and direction supplied the ENGINEER by the OWNER. <br />3. The ENGINEER shall make the necessary field surveys for the <br />working drawings. The ENGINEER shall supervise the soil location and <br />testing for street improvements by a certified laboratory, but the <br />cost of such work shall be paid for by the OWNER. <br />~. The ENGINEER agrees to commence the services to be performed <br />under this contract within 15 calendar days after the date of the <br />contract and to complete the preliminary plans within 45 working days <br />and the final plans within 30 working days after written notice by <br />the OWNER to commence such work and as approvals are rendered by <br />the OWNER. The time required by the OWNER not being part of the <br />ENGINEER's time to complete such plans and specifications. <br />5. Upon approval of all plans and specifications, the ENGINEER <br />shall furnish twenty (20) sets of plans and specifications and take <br />bids, recommend award for construction and prepare contract documents. <br />The ENGINEER shall also prepare an estimate for construction. <br />6. The ENGINEER agrees to make periodic visits to the project <br />site, but no residency observation unless. the OWNER reques ts such <br />assistance as spelled out in the section for additional services. <br />7. The ENGINEER shall check all quantities paid the Contractor <br />on his monthly estimates prior to final payment from the OWNER. <br />SECTION III - ADDITIONAL SERVICES OF THE ENGINEER <br />If authorized in writing by the OWNER, the ENGINEER will furnish <br />or obtain from others additional services of the following types which <br />are not considered normal or customary basic services; these services <br />will be paid for by the OWNER as indicated in SECTION V. <br />1. Construction staking, restaking, surveys, establishment of <br />boundaries, new monuments, related office closures, computations and <br />drafting. <br />2. Preparation of property or easement descriptions and rail- <br />road right-of-ways, permits, calls and approvals. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
