<br />156a <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS <br />THE COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />MUTUAL AID LAW ENFORCEMENT AGREEMENT <br /> <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS,: <br /> <br />The governing bodies of Hays County and the City of San Marcos hereby agree <br /> <br />(all <br /> <br />to establish a mutual aid law enforcement task force in accordance with Section 2 <br /> <br />of ill,ticle 999b, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated and in accordance with <br /> <br />subse<J.uent amendments thereto. Said interlocal law enforcement assistance agreement <br /> <br />shall be in full force and effect upon adoption by resolution or order of both <br /> <br />governing bodies of the following terms and provisions of agreement: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The mutual aid law enforcement task force shall be known as and designated as <br /> <br />"The Hays County Major Crime Task Force", hereinafter referred to as "Task Force". <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />The '!~rask Force" shall be coordinated by a Proj ect Director, who shall be the <br /> <br />Assistant District Attorney of Hays County. Said Project Director shall be <br /> <br />responsible for making the decision as to when circumstances warrant the <br /> <br />calling of the "Task Force" into operation. The Project Director shall also I <br /> <br />provid.e for direct legal assistance to the "Task Force" and for the establishment <br /> <br />and maintenance of a centralized intelligence file for "Task Force" reference. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />The "Task Force" shall include a Governing Board which shall consist of the <br /> <br />Sheriff of Hays County arid the Commander of the City Criminal Investigation <br /> <br /> <br />Division. Each member of the Governing Board shall be responsible for initiating <br /> <br />re<J.uests to the Proj ect Director to call the "Task Force" into operation and for <br /> <br />notifying the "Task Force" members of each respective agency as to "Task Force" <br /> <br />busines s. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />The position of Task Force Coordinator shall be filled from operation to <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />operation by the '!Task Force" investigator who initiates the re<J.uest to the <br /> <br />Governing Board for the purpose of calling the "Task Force" into operation. <br /> <br />The Task Force Coordinator shall then become the lead officer of the "Task Force" <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />for his particular case operation only, said responsibility to include seeking <br /> <br />sufficient evidence to warrant legal action by the District .At'tur.tiey" s Office, <br />
