<br />38a <br /> <br />SECTION 3: NATIONAL CODES AMENDED. <br /> <br />Section 603.1 of the Southern Standard Heating and Air Condition- <br />ing Code, 1976 Edition, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />603.1--Genera1 <br /> <br />Condensation from all cooling <br />coils or evaporators shall be carried <br />full size from drip pan outlet and piped <br />to a wet trap storm sewer"drain or an <br />approved French drain on units larger <br />than three tons nominal capacity. Drains <br />from units three "(3) tons and smaller <br />capacity may terminate in gutter or roof <br />drain, on a concrete pad or other location <br />subject to approval of the Mechanical <br />Official. Condensate drains from roof top <br />units may spill on roof providing it does <br />not drain into stre~t or alley, or other <br />area, of sufficient amount to be a menace. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 4. EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF HEATING AND AIR <br /> <br />CONTITIONING AND CONTRACTORS. <br /> <br />A. That there is hereby created a board for the examination <br />of heating and air conditioning contractors within the City of San <br />Marcos~" Texas, to be known as the Examining and Supervising Board <br />of Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors. Said Board shall con- <br />sist bf five (5) members; one member shall be the City Heating I <br />and Air Conditioning Inspector of San Marcos, Texas; two members " <br />shall be Master Heating and" Air Conditioning Contractors with es- <br />tablished business houses in said City; one member" shall be a <br />"General Building Contractor of said City; and" one member shall <br />be a layman. The members of such Board shall be appointed to tW0 <br />"year terms by the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, with the approval <br />of the City Council. Board members shall serve without remuneration. <br /> <br />B." That the Board shall, after its appointment, fix dates <br />at reasonable times for having examinations of applicants for li- <br />censes. <br /> <br />C. That it shall be the duty of the Board to pass upon all <br />persons engaged in the heating and air conditioning business as <br />Master Heating and Air CondiDioning Contractor and Journeyman <br />Heating and Air" Conditioning Installer. Whenever a person has <br />successfully passed the examination prescribed by the Board, no <br />license shall be issued until he has f~rst given bond in the sum <br />of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) conditioned upon full compliance <br />with the ordinances of the City of" San Marcos, Texas, regulating <br />installation and repair" of air conditioning units and equipment <br />apparatus. <br /> <br />D. That no license snall be issued for more than one (1) <br />year, and" such license may be renewed from year to year upon I <br />application of the holder of such license. In the event the <br />holder of a license fails to renew the required license and later <br />desires renewal, he shall mane application and take the required <br />examination. <br />
