38a SECTION 3: NATIONAL CODES AMENDED. Section 603.1 of the Southern Standard Heating and Air Condition- ing Code, 1976 Edition, is hereby amended to read as follows: 603.1--Genera1 Condensation from all cooling coils or evaporators shall be carried full size from drip pan outlet and piped to a wet trap storm sewer"drain or an approved French drain on units larger than three tons nominal capacity. Drains from units three "(3) tons and smaller capacity may terminate in gutter or roof drain, on a concrete pad or other location subject to approval of the Mechanical Official. Condensate drains from roof top units may spill on roof providing it does not drain into stre~t or alley, or other area, of sufficient amount to be a menace. I SECTION 4. EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF HEATING AND AIR CONTITIONING AND CONTRACTORS. A. That there is hereby created a board for the examination of heating and air conditioning contractors within the City of San Marcos~" Texas, to be known as the Examining and Supervising Board of Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors. Said Board shall con- sist bf five (5) members; one member shall be the City Heating I and Air Conditioning Inspector of San Marcos, Texas; two members " shall be Master Heating and" Air Conditioning Contractors with es- tablished business houses in said City; one member" shall be a "General Building Contractor of said City; and" one member shall be a layman. The members of such Board shall be appointed to tW0 "year terms by the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, with the approval of the City Council. Board members shall serve without remuneration. B." That the Board shall, after its appointment, fix dates at reasonable times for having examinations of applicants for li- censes. C. That it shall be the duty of the Board to pass upon all persons engaged in the heating and air conditioning business as Master Heating and Air CondiDioning Contractor and Journeyman Heating and Air" Conditioning Installer. Whenever a person has successfully passed the examination prescribed by the Board, no license shall be issued until he has f~rst given bond in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) conditioned upon full compliance with the ordinances of the City of" San Marcos, Texas, regulating installation and repair" of air conditioning units and equipment apparatus. D. That no license snall be issued for more than one (1) year, and" such license may be renewed from year to year upon I application of the holder of such license. In the event the holder of a license fails to renew the required license and later desires renewal, he shall mane application and take the required examination.
