<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />2.5 PHASE 4, RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE <br /> <br />Upon receipt of the OWNER'S written authorization to implement <br />Phase 4, the Engineer shall: <br />2.5.1 Provide the services of a Resident Project Representative, <br />and other full time field personnel as required for continuous on-site <br />observation of the construction work. <br /> <br />2.5.2 The Resident Project Representative shall act as the <br />OWNER'S representative for on-site contract administration of all PROJECT <br />construction work. The Resident Project Representative will reasonably <br />observe the progress and quality of the construction work to further <br />endeavor to provide further protection of the OWNER that the work is <br />generally progressing in accordance with PROJECT contract drawings and <br />specifications in order to further endeavor to safeguard the OWNER <br />against reasonably apparent defects and deficiencies in the permanent <br />construction work by the Contractor. <br />2.5.3 The furnishing of such Resident Project Representative or' <br />such other field personnel shall not make the ENGINEER responsible, di- <br />rectly or indirectly, for the construction means, methods, techniques, <br />sequences, quality, procedures, programs. safety precautions or lack of <br />same incident thereto or in connection with the work. The ENGINEER shall <br />not be in any way responsible or liable for any acts, errors, omissions <br />or negligence of Contractor, any Subcontractor, or any of the Contractor's <br />or Subcontractor's agents, servants or employees or any ,other person, firm <br />or corporation performing or attempting to perform any of the work; and he <br />shall not be responsible for the Contractor's failure tb carry out and <br />execute the work in accordance with the construction contract. <br /> <br />-9- <br />
