<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1977 -53
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1977-
<br />19, ADOPTED ON MAY 16, 1977, WHICH ADOPTED, AS
<br />AMENDED, THE SOUTHERN STANDARD HEATING AND AIR
<br />CONDITIONING CODE AND UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE,
<br />PROVIDED FOR A HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING
<br />INSPECTOR, CREATED AN EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING
<br />BOARD OF HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTORS,
<br />PROVIDED FOR THE LICENSING OF HEATING AND AIR
<br />CONDITIONING CONTRACTORS AND INSTALLERS, RE-
<br />QUIRED PERMITS, PROVIDED FOR LICENSING FEES AND
<br />PERMITS FEES, PROVIDED A PENALTY, ETC., BY ADD-
<br />ING THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM flAPPRENTICE"; BY
<br />INCREASING LICENSING AND PERMIT FEES; BY ESTA-
<br />BLISHING NEW LICENSE FEES FOR THE MAINTENANCE
<br />HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING LICENSE, RESTRICTED,
<br />AND FOR THE APPRENTICE; BY ESTABLISHING NEW PER-
<br />MIT FEES FOR CERTAIN HEATING AND AIR CONDITION-
<br />ING WORK; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance 1977-19, adopted on May 16,
<br />1977, be, and is hereby, amended by adding the following definition:
<br />
<br />Section 1. Definitions.
<br />
<br />D. That the term Apprentice, as used in this Ordinance, is defined
<br />to mean and include a person who is learning the trade of a heating
<br />and air conditioning installer and who works only under the direct
<br />supervision of a Master Heating and Air Conditioning Contractor or
<br />Journeyman Heating and Air Conditioning Installer.

<br />Section 2. That Section 4, Subsection F of Ordinance 1977-19, adopted
<br />on May 16, 1977, be, and is hereby, amended by repealing that subsectioI'
<br />as it currently reads and by substituting in its ptace the following:
<br />
<br />Section 4. Examining and Supervising Board of Heating and Air
<br />Conditioning Contractors.
<br />
<br />F. That an applicant for a Journeyman Heating and Air Conditioning
<br />Installer License or a Maintenance Heating and Air Conditioning
<br />License, Restricted, must have had two or more years of work exper-
<br />ience as an apprentice.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That Section 4, Subsection H, of Ordinance 1977-19, adopted
<br />on May 16, 1977, be, and is hereby, amended by repealing that subsectio
<br />and by substituting in its place the following:
<br />
<br />Section 4. Examining and Supervising Board of Heating and Air
<br />Conditioning Contractors.
<br />
<br />H. That the non-refundable examination fees for the Master
<br />Heating and Air Conditioning License and the Journeyman Heating and
<br />Air Conditiontin License shall be Twenty Dollars ($20.00).
<br />
<br />Section 4. That Section 4, Subsection I, of Ordinance 1977-19, adopted
<br />on May 16, 1977, be, and is hereby', amended by repealing that subsectio
<br />and by substituting in its place the following:

<br />Section 4. Examining and Supervising Board of Heating and Air
<br />Conditioning Contractors.

<br />Ordinance are as follows:
