Reconsideration of Ordinance 2010 -24, adopted May 4, 2010, amending the official <br />zoning map of the City by rezoning a 5.64 acre, more or less, tract of land out of the <br />Thomas J. Chambers Survey Abstract No. 2 from "SF -6" Single Family Residential <br />District to "MF -12" Multi- Family Residential District; and including procedural <br />provisions. <br />There was no reconsideration of this item. <br />33. Discussion on the proposed creation of a Neighborhood Commission, and provide <br />direction to staff. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Bose and a second by Councilmember <br />Thomaides, the City Council voted four (4) for and three (3) opposed, with Mayor Narvaiz and <br />• Councilmembers Porterfield and Terry voting against, to table this item until the June 1 meeting. <br />The motion carried. <br />34. Discussion on unoccupied residential and commercial buildings in San Marcos and <br />related issues, and provide direction to staff. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Porterfield and a second by <br />Councilmember Thomason, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to table <br />this item until the June 1 meeting. The motion carried unanimously. <br />35. Discussion on Hays Caldwell Women's Center funding request and provide direction to <br />staff. <br />Marla Johnson, Director for the Center, reported they are requesting funds to renovate the former <br />family violence shelter in order to relocate Roxanne's House and expand services for abused <br />children. Council directed that this be brought back at the next meeting. <br />36. Discussion on CDBG projects to be funded in program year 2010, and the development <br />of the 2010 -2015 CDBG Consolidated Plan, including priority needs and citizens' <br />participation plan, and provide direction to staff. <br />Janis Hendrix, Community Initiative Administrator, reported the City will receive $575,181 in <br />• CDBG grant funds in program year 2010; these funds become available after October 1st, <br />contingent upon HUD approval of the 2010 Action Plan and the proposed projects.
