172-a <br />ARTICLE II. DEPARTMENT OF UNIFORMED PATROL <br />Section 21-5. APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS. <br />All uniformed patrolmen employed within the Department of Uniformed <br />Patrol shall be appointed in the manner as provided in Article 1269m <br />of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas (1925); provided however, <br />nothing herein shall be construed so as to include the Commander of <br />Uniformed Patrol who performs as the head of such department within <br />such appointment procedures, other than those provided in Section 21-2 <br />of this Chapter and Section 15 of Article 1269m. <br />There shall be as many members of the Department of Uniformed Patrol <br />as the City Council shall deem fit and proper and as enacted pursuant` <br />to Section 2-31 of this Code dealing with Police and Fire Civil Service. <br />S <br />Section 21-6. POWERS AND DUTIES. # <br />All duly certified and appointed members of the Department of Uniformed <br />Patrol under the authority of the City shall have all the powers and duties_ <br />conferred on local law enforcement officers by the general laws of the <br />State of Texas and by the ordinances of the City. :. <br />Section 21-7 to Section 21-14 (Reserved). <br />ARTICLE III. DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION <br />Section 21-15. APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS. <br />All personnel employed within the Department of Criminal Investigation <br />of the City shall be appointed in the manner as provided in Article 1269m <br />of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas (1925); provided however, nothing <br />herein shall be construed so as to include the Commander of Criminal <br />Investigation who performs as the head of such department within such <br />appointment procedures, other than those provided in Section 21-3 of <br />this Chapter and Section 15 of Article 1269m. <br />There shall be as many members of the Department of Criminal Investigatior? <br />as the City Council shall deem fit and proper and as enacted pursuant to <br />Section 2-31 of this Code dealing with Police and Fire Civil Service. <br />Section 21-16.
