RESOLUTION NO. 1976-1-R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE USE OF <br />THE OLD CITY HALL BUILDING FOR MUSEUM USE BY <br />TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC., AND AUTHORI- <br />ZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A LEASE OF SAID <br />PREMISES TO SAID MUSEUM FOR THE PERIOD FROM <br />THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS RESOLUTION TO <br />DECEMBER 31, 1976. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has previously considered and dis- <br />cussed the proposal of the Texas Museum of History, Inc., to <br />utilize the old City Hall building as a museum site for the calendar <br />year 1976; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Council does hereby find that said use is in the <br />public interest for the display of historical artifacts significant <br />to the City of San Marcos and Central Texas; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1: That the proposal of Texas Museum of History, Inc., <br />to utilize the old City Hall building located in the 200 Block of <br />North Guadalupe for the calendar year 1976 be, and is hereby, approved <br />pursuant to the terms and provisions of the lease prepared and exe- <br />cuted pursuant to the authority of this resolution. <br />PART 2: That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Dr. Emmie <br />Craddock, or her successor, be, and is hereby, authorized to execute <br />said lease in behalf of the City. <br />n <br />M <br />fY <br />,.T <br /> <br />PART 3: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately <br />from and after its passage. <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of <br />ATTEST: <br />oriss Hambrick <br />City Secretary <br />APPROVED: <br />W111, <br />Tom Akins <br />City Attorney <br />Januar , 1976 <br />. <br />I <br />Emmie Craddock <br />Mayor <br />175
