30 Y' <br />3. Compensation and Method of Paym ont. Upon receipt of a duly executed <br />invoice from the Contractor, within fifteen (15) days of execution of this contract, <br />the City agrees to deposit with the Contractor the sum of three thousand dollars. <br />A second payment of three thousand dollars shall be paid by the City to the Contractor <br />approximately mid-way through the Contract period. The sum of six thousand dollars <br />shall constitute full compensation of the interns and for direct expenses as follows: <br />Two research-graduate assistants, 3 months <br />each at $700/mo. $4,200 <br />Direct expenses for travel, subsistence, <br />blue printing, etc. 1.,000 <br />w5;200 <br />I3nployee benefits, overhead and contingencies Soo <br />TOTAL $6,000 <br />The Contractor will not incur other expenses for which reimbursement is to <br />be claimed without written authorization from the City amending this Contract. <br />4. Academic Requirements. The City agrees to disignate as liaison for <br />this project the City Manager of San Marcos. lie shall oversee the work of the De- <br />partment of Urban and Regional Planning and provide required local input and comments. <br />lie shall also evaluate in writing the work, of the intern. <br />In case of unsatisfactory performance, the City shall notify the Head of <br />the Department of Urban and Regional Planning who. shall take such steps as may be <br />required to correct any problem. Should dismissal of an intern become necessary, <br />the compensation of the Contract shall be adjusted accordingly. <br />5. Continued Service. Nothing in this agreement shall prevent the City, <br />or the intern, from entering into other employment agreements upon completion of the <br />internship provided hereunder. <br />6. It is expressly agreed by and between the parties that this agreement <br />shall become null and void in the event that the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development of the United States Government rejects that portion of the Action Year <br />#2 Application for funds under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 <br />which appropriates money for the construction of improvements in the Central Business <br />District of the City of San ;Marcos, Texas. <br />IN WITNESS WMREOF, the City and the Contractor have executed this contract. <br />CITY OF SAN DWZCOS TQP1r U NIVI?R,SI1'Y <br />MAY 2 61 <br />City tanager Date <br />i ent Date <br />lt?
