x A?, THE STATE OF TMAS <br />WILIT'Y OF HAYS <br />A <br />X <br />X <br />IQJ01IJ ALL AEN BY TIT.SE PRESEM'S: <br />AGlu:lNNI' FOR SLRVICLS <br />AR THIS AGR M Nl', entered into by and between the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />with offices situated in flays County, Texas, herein called the "City", and Texas <br />A411 University, herein called "Contractor". <br />WITNESSEM I THAT : <br />M-JEREAS, the City desires to engage the Contractor to render certain <br />services in connection herewith: <br />NOW, TIM-REFORE, the parties do mutually agree as follows: <br />1. Scope of Services. The Contractor shall provide to the said City <br />the services of two research-graduate assistants as professional urban planning <br />interns. The specific duties will be to assist the City of San Marcos in: <br />a. Lconomic Base Study. Analysis of general economic trends in the urban area; <br />analysis of disposable incomes and spending power of San Marcos trade area households; <br />existing retail and service establishments and their capacity; relationship of demand <br />to potential geographic delineation of subtrade areas and commercial centers; office <br />space analysis; potential CBD functions and space requirements. <br />b. Accessibility. Analysis of existing traffic flow with particular emphasis on <br />the CBD identification of volume/capacity problems and review of alternative solutions <br />under varying land use and density assungrtions; traffic engineering measures; capital <br />requirements. <br />c. Project Design. Based on the results of the above initial work effort, a com- <br />prehensive study design will be submitted together with sources of federal assistance. <br />As required, application documents will be drafted for execution by the City. <br />The tasks listed above, and others appropriate to the field. of urban and regional <br />planning, will be wider the direction of Dr. W. G. Roeseler, Head, Department: of <br />Urban $ Regional Planning, Texas A$M University. <br />2. Time of Performance. The services of the interns is to commence on or <br />about 15 I-1ay 1976 and shall be undertaken and completed in such sequence as to as- <br />sure their expeditious completion in the light of the purposes of this Contract, and <br />such services shall be complete on or about-1S September 1976. The City of San Marcos <br />shall notify Contractor in writing to proceed. It is understood that no work shall <br />begin until said letter to proceed is received.
