<br />'.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B. WARNING OF NATURAL DISASTERS <br /> <br />I. Insofar as time and conditions permit, complete all actions under <br />"Increased Readiness" above. <br /> <br />20 Notify unincorporated communitieso <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />According to nature of threatened disasters, begin flood or tornado <br />watch, notify poliee or fire auxiliaries, appropriate department <br />heads, and utility representatives. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Each designated staff person will immediately either proceed to his <br />plac~of duty or standby for subsequent alert call. Travel and <br />vacation plans will be curtailed and he will keep his home or office <br />informed of his whereabouts at all times. Family survival plans will <br />be tested and rehearsed and preparations will be made for possible <br />relocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5. Alert and brief cities/county officials and key local firms, schools, <br />and industries. <br /> <br />6. Warn public according to plans. (Broadcast weather warnings, sound <br />sirens. for sighted tornado or other threatening disasters. Release <br />planned information over KClIIY, KRMH and KLBJ radio stations and TV <br />stations, TV Cable.) <br /> <br />7. In the event the EOC is to be manned, the emergency calldown system <br />will be initiated as follows: <br /> <br />a. The Sheriff/Police Dispatcher will see that all EOC staff <br />personnel are notified to report to their respective EOC's. <br /> <br />b. Each division director will then nofity those personnel in his <br />division and advise them to pick up emergency disaster passes I <br />and display them on their person at all times. <br /> <br />C. '~ARInNG OF NUCLEAR ATTACK <br /> <br />1. Alert 'local officials, other DP staff and area directors. <br /> <br />2. Activate and staff BOC's and preposition shelter management staffs <br />as appropriate. <br /> <br />3. If attack is imminent, sound sirens and warn population, order move- <br />ment to shelter and prepare for radiological monitoring. <br /> <br />4. Begin broadcasting emergency instructions to the public over radio, <br />TV and TV eable. <br /> <br />D. POST-DISASTER (NATUR.<\.L DISASTER AS WELL AS NUCLEAR DISASTER) <br /> <br />1. In nuclear disaster, conduct radiological monitoring, warn public of <br />fallout conditions, and detennine maximum allowable dose ,for cities/ <br />county forces in emergency opera"tions. . <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />,,;., ~ <br /> <br />.,-==>&.L. <br />
