Poore', Chamber of Commerce,. <br />Manager; Gene Phillips, General Manager, Aquarena Springs;Bill Toler, <br />r-Ianager, Holiday Inn; ';Ja Her Ohnheiser, Owner, \vhite Rock j,jotel: . <br />and Jim Hearne, o-vmer, Carson's Restaurant. <br /> <br />Jim Hearne was named Chairman of the council during an October <br />meetip.g~ <br /> <br />Since it's formation, the council has held six meetings during <br />which a great many ideas concerning tourist devel0.QIllEmt in_S_an Mar- <br />cos have been discussed. .' _. ~-- <br /> <br />Based on the .$6,700.00 neVT revenue created by the tax for thel <br />quarter, July 6, 1972. to October 6, 1972, it is estimated that the <br />tax will result in aoproximately $l~,OOO to 320,000 during the first <br />year - July 6, 1972 to July 6, 1973. . <br /> <br />To date, the council has aooroved and authorized exoenditures <br />for the following projects "hich'are designed to enhance"tourism <br />in San i'/Iarcos: <br /> <br />1. ApPToval VJas granted to the Chamb8r of Commerce CivicCen- <br />tel' and Rodeo Arena Complex Committee, Clovis- Barker) Chairman, to <br />engage the services of LOCk~Jood,Andrews and Newman Engineering Firm <br />to do a compr81lensive study on the plann,ad complex for an amount not <br />to exceed $5,000.00. <br /> <br />2. The council aPDroved the eXDenditvre of $1 COG.OO to cover <br />the cost difference of " having five attraction pi~e in color <br />
