What types of deposit bags are used /required? Are these available at cost from
the applicant?
Wells Fargo requires plastic, disposable, tamper- evident deposit bags for cash vault deposits.
Wells Fargo can provide these bags to City at Banks cost or, a comparable, approved substitute
can be used. Using a tamper- evident, secure, dual -pouch bag is necessary when you opt for the
fast and easy process of post verification for your banking store deposits. You may order dual -
pouch deposit bags from us, for a fee, or you may select a third party vendor.
4. Are dual verification security measures used on receipt of deposits? (teller and
vault processing.)
Yes, Deposits verified in stores (teller) are processed under dual custody. Deposits verified in
cash vaults are processed under extensive video coverage in a team custody environment.
During each step of the delivery, logging, and verification process, cash vault deposits are
tracked through an automated operating system, which allows for blind verifications.
Our cash vaults provide state -of- the -art security systems. To protect your deposit, we use the
following procedures:
• Deposit bags are received via armored carrier and are fully inspected for
tampering before being accepted.
• Armed guards are on site at most vault locations.
• Extensive video coverage is employed throughout the vault operations.
• After bags are accepted, they're logged at a tracking station and given a bar
code that contains the bag and deposit ID number. We use the bar code to track
the deposit throughout the verification process.
• Deposit bags are received, tracked, and opened under team custody, and are
blind- verified.
• All discrepancies of $10 or more are reported to a supervisor at the time they are
discovered. Supervisors must validate any deposit discrepancies before
processing continues.
• For all adjustments over $50, we call the City's designated contact.
