Wells Fargo is the
only bank to offer this solution entirely via the Internet. And because the service is
delivered via the CEO portal, upgrades and enhancements are delivered instantly.
Extend deposit windows and improve cash flow: Later deposit cut-off times (9:04
p.m. CT) allow you to get additional checks into your day's deposit and receive
ledger credit.
Improve speed and accuracy by reducing the number of items manually keyed
by your operators: Using CAR /LAR (Courtesy Amount Recognition /Legal Amount
Recognition) technologies, the Desktop Deposit service predetermines the amount of
your checks — allowing your operator to simply review the items.
Checks are cleared via one of two available channels:
Check 21 Processing. We will clear the checks via image exchange or as an
Image Replacement Document (IRD). There are no restrictions on check
eligibility —all U.S. checks can be cleared in this manner. No special customer
notification is required to convert the items.
Check Conversion Processing. Our Smart Decision service processing
determines whether to process each item as ACH or Check 21. It uses the
powerful intelligence of our ACH system to determine if the item can be
converted to an ACH debit.
Please note that in order to do check conversion, you must first notify your customers
using a notice modeled on the new Federal Reserve requirements. Then you must
support an opt -out option. We make that easy for you. We created another
Commercial Electronic Office portal application called Deposit Maintenance. To
maintain your customer opt out database, you can either manually enter the
customer's information or upload an Excel spreadsheet.
Desktop Deposit Updates. Our Desktop Deposit service has recently been updated
with five new features that make it even more user - friendly:
Quick Data
Quick data simplifies the data capture process by automatically recalling previously
entered receivables data titled Customer Name and /or Customer Number.
