RFA 210 -006 <br />In those situations where you need to issue a stop payment order, it's typically essential <br />that it be executed as quickly as possible. Wells Fargo gives you three ways to expedite <br />stop payment orders: <br />Over the Internet through our online CEO portal. <br />Electronic transmission by including the stop payment information in your <br />ARP issue file. <br />• By telephone using our InfoTouch telephone service. <br />With all of these services, you can submit your stop payment requests 24 hours a day, <br />seven days a week. Further, your request is processed in real -time, and requires no <br />manual intervention. Stop payment requests can be made as late as 8:00 p.m. and still <br />receive same -day posting. <br />When a stop payment order is submitted, our system automatically verifies whether the <br />check was paid before the order is accepted. In verifying if a check has been paid, the <br />system examines 180 days of history. <br />The System does have the option to initiate a stop payment order on a range of checks. <br />However, this requires that you first contact your Treasury Management Client Services <br />representative to make the necessary arrangements. <br />By ensuring that your stop payment orders are processed as quickly as possible, and that <br />they remain in force for an extended period of time, this comprehensive approach to stop <br />payment requests minimizes your risk. <br />2. How long do standard stop pays remain in effect? <br />Stop payments remain in effect for six months. After this period, our commercial clients <br />may take advantage of our Stop Renewal service. Stop Renewal gives you the ability to <br />extend stop payments for up to six years (in 12 month increments), specify a pre- <br />determined dollar threshold for automatic stop payment renewal, limit the number of <br />times a stop payment will be automatically renewed, etc. <br />3. How is renewal or cancellation accomplished? Is there a fee for renewals? <br />Stop payments are extended online through the CEO Stops- Images- Search module. <br />4. What is the deadline for same day action? <br />Stop payment requests can be made as late as 8:00 p.m. CT and still receive same -day <br />posting. <br />5. Will the on -line system verify if the check was cleared before accepting the stop <br />pay? With tellers? <br />Yes, when you submit a stop payment order, before the order is accepted, our system <br />automatically verifies the previous 180 days of paid check history to determine if the <br />check has already been paid. <br />
