<br />,ll-a <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the ordinance has been passed finally. <br />The Ordinance is as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $205,000 TAX BONDS FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID <br />CITY, INCLUDING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A <br />SYNCHRONIZED TRAFFIC SIGNAL LIGHT SYSTEM AND NECESSARY <br />CURB AND SIDEWALK INSTALLATION; PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY, <br />ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF A TAX ON ALL THE TAXABLE <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF SAID CITY TO PAY THE <br />INTEREST AND CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION <br />THEREOF; ENACTING PROVISIONS INCIDENT AND RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT AND PURPOSE OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each and all of the members of the City Council of <br /> <br />said City was duly and sufficiently notified, officially and per- <br /> <br />sonally, in advance, of the time, place and purpose of this <br /> <br />meeting; and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, proper notice of this meeting has been duly and <br />timely posted as provided by law; and <br />WHEREAS, an election was held in the City of San Marcos on <br />September 27, 1966, on the question of the issuance of $740,000 <br />of bonds for the purpose of constructing street improvements in <br />said City, including the purchase and installation of a synchronized <br />traffic signal light system and necessary curb and sidewalk instal- <br /> <br />lation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said election was duly held and the returns were <br /> <br />canvassed by the City Council in accordance with law and said <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />proposition on said bonds was approved by a majority of the <br />legally qualified voters of said City voting at said election; and <br />WHEREAS, there was a bond ordinance passed by the City Council on <br />December 19, 1967, authorizing a first series of $35,000; said <br />bonds being approved by the Attorney General of Texas (1-26-68, <br />No. 9722, Book No. 43); registered by the Comptroller of Public <br />Accounts of the State of Texas (Register No. 38345), and duly <br />sold and delivered; and <br />WHEREAS, there was a bond ordinance passed by the City Council <br />on March 11, 1968, authorizing a second series of $500,000; said <br />
