That the form of said bonds shall be substantially as follows: I NO. $5,000 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND, SERIES 1973 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That the City of San Marcos, in the County of Hays, State of Texas, a municipal corporation duly incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas, FOR VALUE RECEIVED, hereby promises to pay to the bearer hereof on the 1st day of January, -' the sum of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000), in lawful money of the United States of America, with I interest thereon from date hereof at the rate of _____ per cent (____%) per annum, interest payable January 1, 1975, and semi- annually thereafter on July 1 and January 1 in each year, prin- cipal and interest payable upon presentation and surrender of bond or proper coupon at The First National Bank of San Marcos, San Marcos, Texas, or, at the option of the holder, at the Frost National Bank, San Antonio, Texas, without exchange or collection charges to the owner or holder hereof, and the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby held and firmly bound, and its faith and credit and all real and personal property in said City are hereby pledged for the prompt payment of the principal of this Bond and the in- terest thereon at maturity. THIS BOND is one of a series of 41 Bonds, numbered consecu- tively from 1 to 41, inclusive, of the denomination of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) each, aggregating Two Hundred Five Thousand Dollars ($205,000), for the purpose of constructing street improvements in said City, including the purchase and installation of a synchronized traffic signal light system and necessary curb and sidewalk installation, under and by virtue I - 4 -
