The <br />Ordinance was read in its entirety, the caption which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, A~NDING SECTIONS 29-123 AND 29-152(c) <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINA~CES OF SAID CITY TO ADD SEVEN LO- <br />CATIONS WITHIN SAID CITY AT WHICH PARKING SHALL BE PRO- <br />HIBITED; TO ADD FOUR LOCATIONS WITHIN SAID CITY WHICH <br />SHALL BE DESIGNATED AS TOW-AWAY ZONES AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mrs. <br />Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration authorization to bid on Cemetery <br />Maintenance Services. Mr. Brown moved to authorize bids and Mr. James <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration approval of dedication by deed <br />of Lots 381, 382, 383 and 384of the Westover Addition from the City of <br />San Marcos to Scheib Opportunity Center. Mr. Joe Froh of Scheib was <br />present at the meeting and indicated Scheib had outgrown their present <br />facilities and was in need of a workshop and garage area, which they <br />wanted to construct on the four lots. Mr. James moved that the four <br />lots be dedicated by deed to Scheib Center and Mrs. Mendez seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />second reading amending Chapter 6 entitled Cemeteries of the Code of <br />Ordinances to change the fees, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />~iARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, ENTITLED "CEME- <br />TERIES'' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TO INCREASE PERMIT FEES FOR WORK PERFOrmED AT THE SAN <br />MARCOS CEMETERY; TO SET OTHER FEES; TO INCREASE FEES <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF PERPETUAL CARE AT THE SAN ~RCOS <br />CEMETERY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for the approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br />and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration approval of the LBJ Birthday <br />Holiday on August 27, 1981. In the~new personnel policies adopted <br />by the City Council on June 8, 1981, Washington's birthday was sub- <br />sti'tuted in place of Lyndon B. Johnson's birthday as a holiday for <br />city employees. Since Washington's birthday has already passed and <br />with the adoption of the new policies, the employees would lose a <br />holiday this year if Council did not approve the Lyndon B. Johnson <br />birthday holiday for this ye~ar. Mr. Kreczmer moved to approve Lyndon <br />B. Johnson's birthday as a holiday for city employees this year only <br />and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James introduced for consideration an Ordinance on third and final <br />reading amending Section 33-9 of the Code of Ordinances to require com- <br />mercial towing and wrecker services participating in the City's rotat- <br />ing system of notification to maintain cargo insurance, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 33-9 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO REQUIRE <br />COMMERCIAL TOWING AND WRECKER SERVICES PARTICIPATING <br />IN THE ROTATING SYSTEM OF NOTIFICATION OPERATED BY THE <br />SAN MARCOS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO MAINTAIN SPECI- <br />FIED AMOUNTS AND KINDS OF INSURANCE, TO SET REQUIREMENTS <br />FOR INSURANCE POLICIES PROCURED PURSUAI~T TO SAID SECTION <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> <br />
