Regular Meeting January 13, 2003 Page 13 <br /> <br />2003 from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 1, 2003 from 9:00 <br />a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The Council agreed by consensus. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the City Council's Report. 1) Mr. Mayhew <br />stated on January 30th the New Braunfels Children's Museum would be closing <br />their satellite museum at the San Marcos Outlet. He state~ this would be <br />an opportunity to look at establishing a San Marcos Children's Museum. He <br />feels the community can unite on this issue and come together. The San <br />Marcos Children's Museum provides access to arts for children, which <br />impacts their views. He feels the Museu~ provides a safe environment for <br />children. He stated this Saturday there will be a planning meeting from <br />10:00 a.m.-il30 a.m. in the San Marcos Public Library. 2) Martha Tatum <br />stated she is interested in the San Marcos Children's Museum continuing. <br />3) Ms. Narvaiz stated she provided the Council information regarding the <br />Hispanic Chamber's request for parkland. She stated she provided a copy <br />of her addressed questions and wanted to make sure the Council received <br />them, which they had. 4) Mayor Habingreither stated he recently attended <br />an Hispanic Chambers meeting. He stated the Hispanic Chamber has a good <br />opportunity for future development. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Section 551.071, to seek the City Attorney's advice <br />regarding pending litigation, contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, <br />or matter involving attorney-client privilege (Burkett Transit Advertising <br />vs. City of San Marcos; W.C. Carson vs. City of San Marcos; election <br />campaign flyer; City Attorney employment contract [advice from Special <br />Counsel); and Section 551.074, to discuss the evaluation of a public <br />officer (City Attorney). Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council adjourn into <br />Executive Session at 10:30 p.m. and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Narvaiz moved the Council reconvene at 12:13 a.m. and Mr. Mihalkanin <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:14 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Taylor and <br />seconded by Ms. Tatum. <br /> <br />Ed Mihalkanin <br />Council Member <br /> <br /> Robert B.
