On roll call for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Habingreither and Taylor. <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Mihalkanin, Montoya, Narvaiz, Mayhew and Tatum. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />This Zoning failed. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF THE ALLEYWAY BETWEEN THE <br />1200 BLOCKS OF IviARLTON STREET AND EARLE STREET; APPROVING THE <br />CONVEYANCE OF THIS PORTION OF THE ALLEYWAY TO ALBADALANA DANIEL AND <br />NAWONA CRENWELGE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak. No one did, so Mayor Habingreither closed the public hearing. <br />Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. <br />Tatum seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 2.069 OF THE CITY CODE TO REVISE CITY BOARD AND <br />CONMISSION MEETING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Ms. Tatum moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. <br />Narvaiz seconded the motion. Mr. 0'Leary stated the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission asked for these proposed changes to amend the definition of an <br />excused absence to include child care for a newly born or adopted child <br />during the first 8 weeks of a child's life and to clarify that the Chair <br />will be responsible for the determination of whether or not an excused <br />absence has occurred. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of <br />the Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration reconsideration of a <br />Zoning Ordinance.
