Rodney Cobb, Director of Community Services, reported on mowing along IH -35. TXDOT has reduced the frequency of mowing due to funding. • Rick Menchaca, City Manager, reported on the McCarty Lane construction. We are progressing on the construction, including the right -of -way clearance. Over 1,000 feet of waterline has been constructed. Phase 3 is currently under construction. The county has contributed $2.3 million to our total project cost. The City portion is $9 million. We will come in 30% under budget. There were some questions if this would jeopardize the County's pass through funding. We received a letter from TXDOT that it does not. We also asked if this will jeopardize the pass through toll rate. We were told this also will not be jeopardized. The County and City will prepare a joint response. David Healey, Director of CIP, reported there are currently 65 projects under way with 55 companies engaged. There are 9 projects under construction. Upcoming completion milestones include: July 17 : Central Fire Station Ribbon Cutting; July 24 : Wonder World Drive Extension Dedication; August: Airport Control Tower Open; and September Five Mile Dam Park & Soccer Fields Open. 2010 completed projects include: Comanche Wastewater Improvements; Guadalupe Sidewalks; Sessom Drive Phase 1; Sink Creek Wastewater Interceptor Phase 1, WWTP Wet Weather Improvements; and MKT 12" Wastewater. Current projects are McCarty Lane; Rio Vista Terrace Phase 2; Five Mile Dam Phase 2; and Airport Control Tower. Projects on the horizon include: • Rail Road Quiet Zones • HNTB will be under contract to expedite a quiet zone project that covers the entire city • Almost 40 crossings • Working closely with FRA, TXDOT, Texas State, UPRR • Victory Gardens Drainage Channel Improvements ■ Public meeting June 16, Dunbar Center, 6 p.m. • Downtown Two -Way Conversion • Study includes Hutchison & LBJ • Public meeting June 30, Fish Hatchery, 6 p.m. CONSENT AGENDA 10.
