(21)MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Porterfield and a second by Councilmember Thomaides, the City Council voted three (3) for and four (4) opposed, with • Mayor Narvaiz and Councilmembers Thomason, Terry and Thomaides voting against, to adopt Resolution 2010 -95R. The motion failed. (25)MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember Thomason, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed, with Councilmember Jones abstaining, to approve Change in Service No. 5 to the McCarty Lane Improvements Project. The motion carried. (27)MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember Thomason, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve Change Order No. 5 for the Wonder World Drive Extension Project, amended to not exceed $573,472.71. The motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC HEARINGS 33. Public Hearing to receive comments for and against an ordinance changing the name of a portion of East McCarty lane, from its intersection with Old Bastrop Highway (CR 266) to its current terminus point at the City limit line (2600 block of East McCarty Lane), to "Rattler Road "; and including procedural provisions; and consider ordinance on the first of two readings. Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing at 8:00 p.m. • Muriel Sweeny, representing the senior class, stated it is customary for departing seniors to leave a gift, and they want to change the name of that portion of McCarty Road to Rattler Road. She believes the students of San Marcos High School have put San Marcos High School on the map. They have had a baseball team and a soccer team go to the state playoffs, and other worthy accomplishments. They have done their job and put San Marcos High School on the map metaphorically. They are committed to their school and to the community. Rattler pride runs deep. This will greatly impact the senior class, classes to come and the community. There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:02 p.m. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Terry and a second by Councilmember Porterfield, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed, with Councilmember Jones absent from the dais, to approve the ordinance on the first of two readings.
