• ORDINANCE NO. 2008-28 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO <br />PUBLIC FOR A 16.19 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND <br />LOCATED AT 1664 CENTERPOINT ROAD; AMENDING THE <br />OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS <br />TRACT FROM "UZ" UNZONED TO "P" PUBLIC AND <br />INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On July 8, 2008, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San Marcos held <br />a public hearing regarding a request to change the Future Land Use Map of the San Marcos <br />Horizons City Master Plan from Low Density Residential to Public, and a concurrent request to <br />change the zoning from "UZ" Unzoned to "P" Public and Institutional for a 16.19 acre, more or <br />less, tract of land located at 1664 Centerpoint Road. <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />considered and voted to approve the requests on July 8, and recommended that the requests be <br />is approved by the City Council of the City. <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on August 5, 2008 regarding the <br />requests. <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 1, Development Procedures, of the City Land <br />Development Code pertaining to Future Land Use Map Amendments and Zoning Map <br />amendments have been met. <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following <br />ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. The Future Land Use Plan of the San Marcos Horizons City Master Plan is <br />revised to change the future land use designation for the following real property from Low <br />Density Residential to Public: <br />,Street add 1664 Centerpoint Road <br />16.19 acre, more or less <br />E
