140 ORDINANCE 19 81-58 AN ORDINANCE. OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, EN- TITLED "CEMETERIES" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TO INCREASE PERMIT FEES FOR WORK PERFORMED AT THE SAN MARCOS CEMETERY; TO SET OTHER FEES; TO INCREASE FEES FOR THE PURCHASE OF PERPETUAL CARE AT THE SAN MARCOS CEMETERY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That section 6-26 of the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 6-26. Permit fees. There is hereby established the following schedule of permit fees for work to be performed on the grounds of the San Marcos Cemetery: McGehee Addition; Old Original Addition; Roselawn Addition; A.M. Ramsay Addition; Dixon Addition, Section 2, 3, and 4: Interments or disinterments $150' The setting or resetting of grave markers $150 Repairs to or removal of.existing curbing or any other type of above-ground enclosure $150 No fee shall be charged for a permit issued for work performed on a cemetery lot for which the fee has been paid for the perpetual care fund for the City of San Marcos or for lots in Section 1 of the Dixon Addition for which perpetual care charges are exempted~ or work done in the mausoleum. Permit fees will be. refunded if the full perPetual care fee is paid on the lot for which the permit was issued within one hundred ~igh~y (180) days of the permit date, providing that the applicant makes written application to the City for said refund. SECTION 2. That the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a section , to be numbered 6-29(A), which said section reads as follows: Sec. 6-29(A). Other fees~ (1) Han'dling' Fee--A $2 per month fee will be charged to all persons who hold accounts with the City for the purpose of paying for cemetery lots ~an~/ or perpetual care charges. (2) Late ~Charge--An eighteen (18) percent monthly charge will be added to the total account when monthly payments become delinquent by thirty (30) days. (3) Gene~alogic~al Inv'es~igations--$10 per hour per re- quest. Such investigation may involve any or all of the following: (a) record search (b) geographical search at the Cemetery, (c) collaboration with other persons for the purpose of gathering information, and (d) correspondence costs related to any of the above.
