The Council agreed by consensus to defer direction until after Executive Session. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.044 OF THE CITY CODE PERTAINING TO THE AGENDA PROCESS FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on the first reading and Mr. Thomaides seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on the first reading and Mr. Thomaides seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval oi an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 107.759 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED IN THE 2600 - 3000 BLOCKS OF OLD BASTROP HIGHWAY (HIGH SCHOOL TRACT); APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mr. Taylor moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Diaz seconded the motion. Mr. Mark Taylor stated he had provided an amendment to the Council which the acreage would now total 111 areas. Mr. Mihalkanin inquired whether this would be a problem since the Council had already held 2 public hearings. Mr. Mark Taylor stated the Ordinance reads Umore or less", which is okay. Mr. Diaz moved to amend the Ordinance to read total annexation area is 111.411 acres, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading.
