The Council agreed by consensus to Option <br />1 for neighborhood commercial. Council agreed by consensus to wait to <br />provide direction about widening of Hopkins as part of the Transportation <br />Master Plan. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to amend the Sector Plan to reflect the <br />Council's changes and Mr. Thomaides seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption <br />of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 0.164 ACRE <br />TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 310 SHADY LANE FROM "M" SINGLE-FAMILY, <br />DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO "R-2" SINGLE-FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT (MEDIUM DENSITY)¡ INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS¡ <br />AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Thomaides was not <br />present during this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption <br />of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />RATIFYING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE BUREAU OF <br />JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT¡ APPROVING <br />A GRANT CONTRACT AWARD WITH THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A <br />LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT¡ APPROVING THE CONTRIBUTION OF <br />MATCHING FUNDS BY THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE ALL GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY¡ AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Diaz <br />moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously (Mr. Thomaides and Mr. Taylor were not present <br />during this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 2.041 AND 2.042 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE DAY <br />
