<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City Council ofthe City ofSah Marcos supports the development of the hotel <br />and conference center in a public-private partnership with Mr. John Q. Hammons. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Council directs the staff to develop for City Council consideration a <br />memorandum of understanding with Mr. John Q. Hammons describing the essential elements of the <br />development agreement to be executed with Mr. Hammons for the fmancing, construction, operation <br />and management of the hotel and conference center. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Council expresses its support for the inclusion of environmentally sound <br />principles and practices in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the hotel <br />and conference center and other related development, including principles and practices that achieve <br />and exceed the City's current development regulations, especially with respect to the protection of <br />the quality of stormwater runoff from the hotel and conference center site, and from utility and <br />roadway construction in the vicinity of the site. Examples of principles and practices to be used <br />include, but are not limited to, the preservation of natural drainage patterns, tree cover and vegetation <br />to the extent reasonably feasible, the limitation of impervious cover (including the use of pervious <br />alternatives to impervious cover), and the use of overland drainage flow and open, vegetated <br />drainage swales. The City Council directs the staff to include in the memorandum of understanding <br />and the development agreement express references to the achievement ofthis objective. <br /> <br />PART 4.
