<br />1.2 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />The Contractor will: <br /> <br />1.2.1 Inspect and inventory all existing overhead electric distribution facilities and foreign <br />attachments utilizing field computing devices. City poles that are discovered in the field but not in <br />the City records provided to the Contractor will be inspected and inventoried. Poles in the City <br />records provided to Contractor but not found in the field will be noted for record correction purposes. <br /> <br />1.2.2 Note by visual inspection poles that are not in compliance with the National Electrical Safety <br />Code for follow-up engineering. <br /> <br />1.2.3 Review collected data for accuracy and identify and address data quality issues. Initially, the <br />Contractor will review the data in the field and then transmit it electronically to the main office for <br />further quality assurance and preparation for delivery to the City. The Contractor will analyze the <br />data programmatically to identify invalid, inconsistent, and duplicate data. The Contractor will <br />review any data problems identified during this phase of work and correct them accordingly. <br /> <br />1.2.4 Deliver data to the City in Microsoft Access format on a mutually agreeable basis utilizing <br />either circuit, geographical area or period of time. <br /> <br />1.2.5 Determine in concert with City staffthe specific content and organization of the deliverable <br />database for compatibility with the City's GeoMedia Professional GIS. <br /> <br />1.2.6 Attach a pole number plate provided by the Contractor to each pole in a prominent location <br />that can be seen from the street or alley. The Contractor will permanently stamp the assigned pole <br />number to each number plate. <br /> <br />1.2.7 Emphasize personnel and public safety for the duration ofthe Proj ect. The Contractor will <br />utilize safety equipment and garments based on City policies and protocol. In addition, the <br />Contractor will reinforce proper protocol for dealing with the public including public relation issues <br />regarding access to utility facilities on private property. <br /> <br />1.3 ADDITIONAL SERVICES <br /> <br />1.3.1 Since the Contractor's compensation is a fixed fee for Basic Services, including minor <br />deviations from those described in this Agreement, compensation to the Contractor for additional <br />services will only be for substantial deviations from the scope of services described in this <br />Agreement. The Contractor will submit a written estimate of fees to the City and obtain the City's <br />authorization before initiating any additional services. The fee to inventory poles in excess of 9700 <br />is $7.15 per pole. Contractor will inventory poles that are discovered in the field but are not in the <br />City records as provided to the Contractor and included in the count towards the 9700 threshold. <br />Poles that are in the City records but are not found in the field will not be counted against the <br /> <br />USS.wpd <br /> <br />2 <br />
