<br />the TAFP, the mInImUm design <br />standards for a general aviation <br />transport airport include a 5,000 foot by <br />100 foot runway, 30,000 pound single <br />gear wheel (SWL) pavement strength, <br />medium intensity runway lighting, full <br />parallel taxiway, precision approach <br />capability, and terminal services. <br /> <br />AIRPORT FACILITIES <br /> <br />This section presents a description of <br />the existing facilities at the San Marcos <br />Municipal Airport. For ease of <br />reference, the section is presented a$ <br />follows: <br /> <br />· Airside Facilities <br />· Landside Facilities <br /> <br />AIRS IDE FACILITIES <br /> <br />Airside facilities are those facilities <br />needed for the safe and efficient <br />movement of aircraft including <br />runways, taxiways, airport lighting, <br />and navigational aids. In most cases, <br />airside facilities dictate the types and <br />levels of aviation activity capable of <br />operating at an airport. A depiction of <br />the airs ide facilities at the airport is <br />provided on Exhibit 1C, Airside <br />Facilities. Table 1A below <br />summarizes key airside facility data for <br />the airport, especially as regards <br />runways and navigational information. <br /> <br />Runways <br /> <br />The airport is served by four runways. <br />Primary runway 12-30 is oriented <br />southeast to northwest and is 5,603 feet <br />long and 150 feet wide. This runway is <br /> <br />asphalt and is strength-rated at 60,000 <br />pounds single wheel gear loading <br />(SWL). Runway 17-35 is oriented in a <br />north/south manner and is 5,440 feet <br />long and 100 feet wide. The asphalt <br />runway is strength-rated at 20,000 <br />pounds single wheel gear loading <br />(SWL). Runway 4-22 is oriented <br />northeast to southwest and is 5512 feet <br />long and 100 feet wide. The asphalt <br />runway is strength-rated at 15,000 <br />pounds single wheel gear loading <br />(SWL). Runway 8-26 is the longest of <br />the four runways and is oriented east to <br />west. It is 6,330 feet long and 100 feet <br />wide. The asphalt runway is strength- <br />rated at 80,000 pounds single wheel <br />gear loading (SWL). <br /> <br />Taxiways <br /> <br />The taxiway system at San Marcos <br />Municipal Airport is identified on <br />Exhibit 1C, Airside Facilities. The <br />taxiways are generally in good condition <br />and paved with asphalt. <br /> <br />Taxiway A is 550 feet long and 50 feet <br />wide, directly accessing Runways 4 and <br />8. Taxiway A also serves to route traffic <br />onto Runway 4. Portions of Runway 4, <br />in turn, are used to taxi to Runway 12 <br />and for connection to Runway17 at the <br />north end. <br /> <br />Taxiway B is 950 feet long by 30 feet <br />wide. Taxiway B routes traffic from the <br />central ramp area, and across Runway <br />8-26, to Taxiway C. <br /> <br />Runway 12-30 is also served by <br />Taxiway C, a full length 4,900 foot, 30- <br />foot wide parallel taxiway for Runway <br />12-30. The parallel taxiway centerline <br />lies approximately 625 feet west of the <br /> <br />1-7 <br />
