have large cracks with grass and weed
outcrops, and are in need of sealing. A
recent engineering study of the
pavement conditions have determined
which concrete panels have the greatest
need of replacement. Replacement of a
majority of these has greatly improved
the airport appearance and operating
capabilities.

Located south of and parallel to
Runway 8-26 the main apron area is
500 feet wide and accommodates
transient parking for the terminal,
Gafford Aero, Gryphon Aviation, McKee
Aviation and Avionics, Southwest Texas
Aviation, and the on-field general
aviation and maintenance facilities.

The east apron area is angled off the
main area to parallel Runway 12-30. It
is home to the Central Texas Wing of
the Confederate Air Force hangar and a
new T-hangar facility.

AIRCRAFT HANGAR FACILITIES

Hangar facilities at San Marcos
Municipal Airport consist of shade
hangars, T-hangars and conventional
and executive hangar facilities. The
shade hangar facility, located on the
main apron, has 14 lease spaces.
Currently thirteen are leased. Three
neighboring, new private T-hangars
have eight units each. Currently 21 are
leased or leases are pending. The
number of units capable of being leased
in this area is 38.

The airport also owns three other older
T-hangars: A, B, and C, located between
the terminal and the apron T-hangars,
south ofthe apron. Building A contains
six spaces which are all currently

1-11

leased. Building B has nine spaces
which are all leased. Building C has ten
spaces, all of which are leased. The total
number of units available in this area is
25. Exhibit 1D, Landside Facilities
provides the location of these facilities.

Seven new executive hangar storage
facilities lie directly southeast of the
Berry Aviation hangar. There are three
new executive hangars between the
terminal and the C group ofT-hangars.
The San Marcos Municipal Airport also
contracts commercial hangar leases to
the following based operations.

Berry Aviation hangars are located
west of the terminal area. Berry
Aviation is a full service executive and
corporate charter operations, as well as
air cargo service. Berry also offers
aircraft sales, leasing and line service.
Its charter fleet consists of 16
Metroliners, while storing 25 other
aircraft, including 2 Beech KingAirs, a
Mitsubishi MU-2, and a Merlin.

McKee Avionics and Aviation
Service provides sales, full line
discount fuel service, and repair and
installation of avionics. McKee operates
at 1838 Airport Drive east of the lease
T-hangars A, B, and C location.

Southwest Texas Aviation is located
between the terminal area to the west
and T-hangars A, B, and C to the east.
Southwest Texas leases a commercial
hangar at 1813 Airport Drive and owns
the newer hangar at 1815. Southwest
Texas Aviation specializes in Mooney
modifications and provides general
aircraft maintenance and service.

Gryphon Aviation provides full time
professional flight training and aircraft
