i. Support legislative action to provide incentives to cities to attract and <br />retain new business. <br />ii. Support legislative action to increase appropriations for workforce <br />training. <br />iii. Support legislative action to increase funding for workforce housing for <br />the workers who are the backbone of the City of San Marcos, including <br />increased opportunities for single - family home ownership in or near <br />employment centers. <br />iv. Support legislative action to increase the availability of affordable housing <br />including tax forgiveness. <br />V. Support legislative action to strengthen P -16 education. <br />vi. Support legislative action to increase funding and programs at Texas State <br />University in accordance with the school's five -year strategic plan. <br />vii. Support legislative action to increase funding for adult education and <br />literacy. <br />viii. Support legislative action that increases and improves financial and <br />educational support for students, expands higher education collaborations, <br />provides for electronic textbooks, and establishes more effective and <br />strategic methods for funding higher education. <br />K. Oppose legislative action to impose additional state fees or costs on City services, <br />including additional state fees or costs on municipal court convictions or require <br />municipal courts to collect fine revenue for the state. <br />Part 2. This resolution supercedes and replaces Resolution 2010 -117R. <br />Part 3.
