~49. <br /> <br />P~SOLUTION NO. 2003- 6 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A GRANT LETTER <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE LOWER <br />COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR THE ADVANCED <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT RAPID RESPONSE TRAINING <br />PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City of San Marcos (the "City"), Southwest Texas State University ("SWT") and <br />the Cmmty of Hays (the "County") have agreed to cooperate to implement and operate a project <br />lmown as the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training ("ALERRT") Project to <br />train law enforcement officers who m'e the first to arrive at a scene of violence. <br /> <br /> 2. The Lower Colorado River Authority ("LCRA") has offered the City a grant in the <br />mnount of $50,000 for construction of a roof LCRA has offered a grant in the amoant of $50,000 <br />to the City for construction ora roof for a shooting range area at the ALERRT training facility at <br />the Gary Job Corps Center property. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Council wishes to approve the attached letter agreement to allow the City to <br />accept this grant. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The attached grant letter agreement between the City m~d LCRA related to the <br />ALERRT Project is approved. <br /> <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the attached <br />agreement on behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PART 3.
