Regular Meeting April 19, 2005 Page 7 Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of an Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR AN 8.84 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300-1400 BLOCKS OF WONDER WORLD DRIVE; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of the Ordinance, and Mr. Taylor seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of an Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL TO "CII COMMERCIAL FOR A 1.677 ACRE TRACT, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND LOCATED AT 600 WONDER WORLD DRIVEi AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "Ift INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "GCII GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONSi AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Thomaides moved for adoption of the Ordinance, and Mr. Diaz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING REINVESTMENT ZONE NO.20 FOR TAX ABATEMENT PURPOSES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 312 OF THE TEXAS TAX CODE, CONSISTING OF 90.13 ACRES OF PROPERTY, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE 2100 -2600 BLOCKS OF IH-35 SOUTH; MAKING STATUTORY FINDINGS; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Thomaides moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. Mark Taylor stated this Ordinance should be amended to adopt on an emergency. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to amend the Ordinance to read. . . adoption on an emergency, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency.
