<br />603.2 is amended by adding section 603.2.2 to read as follows: <br /> <br />603.2.2. Water Supply Control. A customer shutoff valve shall be provided on the customer's <br />premises immediately following the water service meter. The shutoff valve shall be located <br />and accessible in a valve box with a readily removable access cover which extends to grade <br />level. When drain valves are provided on the distribution piping or other portion ofthe water <br />supply system, the drains shall be above grade or otherwise located to prevent the possibility of <br />backflow into the piping system after the system has been drained. <br /> <br />703 is amended by adding 703.6 to read as follows: <br /> <br />703.6 Minimum building sewer size. Any building sewer pipe which extends five feet from <br />the structure and is connected to the sewer tap, shall be four inches in diameter, schedule 40 <br />PVC. <br /> <br />916.1 is amended by adding 916.1.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />916.1.1 At least one vent in the venting system shall have a three inch diameter. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.103. Permit; licensing. <br /> <br />(a) A person applying for a plumbing permit shall be: <br /> <br />(1) A licensed master plumber under state law; or <br /> <br />(2) Exempt from the state licensing law. <br /> <br />(b) A state licensed master plUlllber shall register with the city once a year and show proof of the <br />license and insurance before any work is performed within the city or on pipes connected to the city's <br />water or wastewater service; or <br /> <br />( c) If a building owner is claiming an exemption under state law because he owns and presently <br />occupies the building as his homestead and is planning to do the work himself, then the owner shall <br />provide an affidavit to the building official stating that he owns and presently occupies the building as <br />his homestead. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.104. Fire sprinkler and irrigation system installation. <br /> <br />It is unlawful for a person to perform any service as a fire sprinkler installer or irrigation system <br />installer without first registering with the building inspection division and paying the registration fee. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.105. Water conservation standards. <br /> <br />The water conservation performance standards established under V.T.C.A., Health and Safety Code <br />Chapter 372 and under regulations issued by the state natural resource conservation commission apply <br />to all new and replacement plumbing work subject to this article. All restrictions or conditions of the <br />city's water conservation plan shall be followed. <br /> <br />16 <br />
