<br />The electrical inspector has the duty and authority to: <br /> <br />(1) Enforce this article and bring before the Construction Board of Appeals complaints against <br />persons who violate any sections of this article; <br /> <br />(2) Enter any building or premises at any reasonable time, with the knowledge of the owner or <br />custodian, to examine any electrical wiring or installation of electrical wiring, fixtures or equipment; <br /> <br />(3) Order the electric service disconnected when improper or defective wiring exists or where <br />electrical construction or equipment has been installed without a permit, only after notifying the <br />responsible parties and giving them sufficient time to correct the problem; <br /> <br />(4) Order compliance with this article where a change of use occurs in a building which <br />requires changes or alterations to existing wiring; <br /> <br />(5) Disconnect electrical service in an emergency when necessary for safety of persons or <br />property or when electrical equipment may interfere with the work of the fire department; <br /> <br />(6) Attach to electrical equipment or electrical meters any official notice or seal to prevent the <br />unlawful use of electricity; <br /> <br />(7) Order any person to cease doing any work in violation of this article; and <br /> <br />(8) Carry out any other duties set forth in this article or which may be reasonably necessary to <br />implement this article. <br /> <br />Sees. 14.348--14.370. Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 11. LICENSING OF CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />DIVISION 1. LICENSING OF CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />Sec. 14.371. Prohibited acts. <br /> <br />It is unlawful for any person to: <br /> <br />(1) Display or cause a permit to be displayed or to have in one's possession any license for <br />doing any construction work, knowing it to be fictitious or to have been canceled, suspended or <br />altered; <br /> <br />(2) Lend or permit the use of any license for doing any construction work to any person not <br />entitled to it; <br /> <br />(3) Display or to represent as one's own any license for any construction work when the license <br />has not been lawfully issued to the person displaying it; <br /> <br />(4) Failor refuse to surrender to the building official any license for any construction work that <br /> <br />30 <br />
