<br />(1) A master electrician licensed under this article. <br /> <br />(2) An employee of an electrical contractor designated by the contractor's master electrician to <br />obtain permits under the electrician's license. A letter of authorization stating that the master <br />electrician has designated the electrical contractor to apply for permits shall be filed with the building <br />inspections office and will be in effect for no more than one year. <br /> <br />(3) A property owner who certifies that the work will be performed by the property owner's <br />own hands, in a residence owned and occupied by the property owner as the property owner's <br />homestead. If the residence is also used as a business, then only a master electrician may apply for a <br />permit. <br /> <br />(c) Once a permit application is determined by the building inspection division to be complete, the <br />division will infornl the applicant of the amount of the permit fee. An application will not be <br />considered to be filed with the building inspection division unless and until this completeness is <br />verified and the full amount of the permit fee is paid. A permit fee may be wholly or partially waived <br />in a written development incentive agreement with the city. <br /> <br />(d) The building official may require that a plan review fee be paid by a permit applicant at the time an <br />application is submitted. The payment of the plan review fee will not be deemed to constitute the <br />filing of the application, and the application will not be considered to be filed with the building <br />inspection division unless and until the application is verified to be complete and the full amount of <br />the permit fee is paid. <br /> <br />(e) If the scope of work is increased during the construction period relative to the work authorized to <br />be done under the permit, the permit holder shall file an amended permit application and pay <br />additional fees that are assessed based on the increase in scope prior to beginning any work not <br />covered by the original permit. <br /> <br />(.0 A minimum permit fee may be charged. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.603. Issuance of permit. <br /> <br />(a) Only one permit required under this division will be issued for anyone installation of electrical <br />equipment or other work covered by this article. <br /> <br />(b) Upon receipt of a permit, the electrician may start the proposed job and make the installation <br />described in the application, requesting inspections by the electrical inspector in the proper sequence <br />as the work progresses. <br /> <br />(c) If the death or other inability of the responsible master electrician holding the permit to supervise <br />work under the permit occurs: <br /> <br />(1) The work under the permit may be continued for a period not to exceed six months if <br />another master electrician is already working on the project or the lead journeyman on the project <br />assumes responsibility for the completion of the work in accordance with approved electrical plans <br />and the requirements of the electrical code; or <br /> <br />39 <br />
